How to decrypt a PDF
- Upload a PDF by click on the " upload " area above.
- Selected a file from your computer or mobile device.
- A password field will appear once the file has been uploaded. Type the password
- Click the submit button.
- A download button will appear onces the file has been encrypted.
Why would you want to decrypt a PDF ?
- Some PDFs are encrypted by organizations (e.g., work documents, academic papers) and you may need to open them for authorized use.
- Some PDFs have restrictions that prevent printing, copying, or editing. If you have the password but want full control over the document, decrypting it removes these limitations
- Automated systems (e.g., data analysis tools, text extraction scripts) may fail to read encrypted PDFs. Decrypting allows for easier data handling.
- If you're storing important documents long-term, decrypting ensures future access even if passwords are lost over time.
